Linda Brase is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners
of Professional Counselors and is supervised by Candyce Ossefort-Russell, LPC, PLLC. Linda has experience working with adult individuals and groups, as well as with adolescents.
She received her M.A. in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas with an emphasis in Medical Crisis Counseling. Ms. Brase completed additional training and/or internships with Capital Area Mental Health Center (training in long-term therapy), Wonders and Worries (specializing in helping children and families cope with chronic or life-threatening illness), St. David’s Hospital (providing support to women undergoing breast biopsies), the Breast Cancer Resource Center (assisting patients/couples/families in which a woman has been newly diagnosed with breast cancer), and Hospice Austin (regarding bereavement and end-of-life issues).
Ms. Brase’s personal experience with a life-threatening illness greatly influences her approach to therapy and
she realizes that distress is a natural result of a medical crisis. “Even the most mentally healthy individuals face serious psychological challenges when illness strikes and working with clients dealing with a cancer diagnosis
or a chronic illness has become one of my passions,” says Ms. Brase.
She is a medical and healthcare counselor specializing in assisting families dealing with cancer diagnosis,
long-term illness, and pre-surgical psychological issues.
